I am ecstatic that I have been given the opportunity to have a Q&A with the man himself. Jah CureWell, first and foremost, I would like to thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to do this interview.

Who were some of your musical influences?

Beres Hammond, Big Youth, Sizzla

What was Jah Cure like growing up?

Busy about in the streets trying to make myself known in the musical circles as a youth.

How would you describe the difference between Jah Cure on stage and off stage?

Not much difference, I’m pretty much the same person all around, love is always the message!

Who are some of the music producers that you would like the opportunity to work with in the near future?

Whoever is making good quality, uplifting music. Yes, Iyah uplifting producers.

How would you describe the current state of the reggae industry?

Well, Reggae right now is in a state of rising, with the likes of the elders like Beres, Freddy, and Burning Spear still being relevant and up and coming guns like Taurus,lol I-Octane,Duane Stephenson, and me myself, Jah Cure,of course, Reggae is irie.

What are some improvements you think the Reggae Industry is in need of?

Well, administration needs to be improved from an administrative perspective, also, we need to market the brand more, meaning everybody, not only the government, but also industry stakeholders.

What inspires you when you write your music?

People in the world, Jah, and situations that I find myself in, so u could say my life, I actually did a song entitled “My Life” check it!

So what’s next for Jah Cure? Any new projects in the works?

Well, right now I’m in the process of doing my second album for Sobe/DZMG, I have a few new singles I’m about to drop, namely “Unconditional Love”, “World Cry”, this one feat Keri Hilson and Pooh Bear, and its about people in the world going through struggles, so its a different side to Keri. Pooh Bear is a talented songwriter; he has written for Usher, Mary J. Blige, Whitney, 112, and he’s the one who wrote “Transformer” for Chris Brown. I also have a remix working on with Supa Dups with Mary J called “Each Tear”, so look out for that one too.

I am sure you know that your fans in the States can’t wait to see you. Are you able to give us an idea as to when you will begin a US tour?

I’ll begin when Jah sees fit

Any messages to your fans?

The message is always “love” thats the universal message and language so once we as a people display love the Universe shall be Cured. Universal Cure, check the album, Rasta!
